Frequently asked questions

  1. How do I order a Carstens amplifier?

    • If an amplifier is In Stock, you have the option of purchasing in full, or you may reserve an amplifier by paying a 50% (non refundable) deposit. The remaining balance would then be due prior to shipping.

    • INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - If you live outside of the United States and are interested in purchasing a Carstens Amplification® product please email me directly at brian@carstensamps.com to discuss your options.

    • Carstens Amplification® will not falsify customs documents, or invoices. Please do not ask.

  2. What if an amplifier is out of stock/sold out?

    • If you are looking at a specific amplifier model that is labeled “SOLD OUT”, I recommend that you simply reach out via email. Everything is handmade and the different amp models are usually built in small batches. It may also be possible for a specific model labeled “SOLD OUT” to be custom built for you. By reaching out you can determine what sort of lead time you should expect.

  3. Do you have a return policy?

    • Carstens Amplification® offers a 7-day return policy on any amplifier purchase, beginning on the date of delivery. The customer agrees to pay return shipping. The returned product MUST be in the same condition as when it was received by the customer.

  4. Do you do custom builds?

    • Designing and building a custom amplifier is exciting for both myself and you, the musician! I do offer custom builds and have done so for discerning musicians including Billy Corgan, Sean Lennon and Dweezil Zappa. If interested simply send me an email to discuss details.

  5. Do you only repair vintage amplifiers?

    • No. If you have a tube amplifier in need of repair, simply send an email inquiry for the most accurate assessment.

  6. Do you repair pedals?

    • No pedals please. Tube guitar amplifiers only.

  7. Who is your favorite guitarist?

    • I have many favorites from many genres of music, but you just can not go wrong with the genius of Jimmy Page. His skills as both a guitarist and producer are always inspiring to me!

  8. Whiskey, scotch, rum…?

    • Yes.
